Learn the meaning of homeopathic terms including Mother Tincture, trituration, and succussion.

Homeopathic Remedies – How are They Made?

Homeopathic remedies are made from the elements found in nature –mineral, animal, and plant extracts are the base of these natural remedies which are then diluted through altering
the degree of concentration to avoid creating side effects that can be disagreeable. Paradoxically, the more a homeopathic remedy is diluted the
more effective a remedy will work.

There is a very distinct process for making homeopathic remedies.

For example, when making a homeopathic remedy which is of plant or animal nature the extract–which is a soluble substances–is dissolved
in a mixture of alcohol and water (approximately ninety percent pure alcohol and ten percent distilled water (the ratio can
vary). Then this mixture is set aside for two to four weeks. It is periodically shaken and then is press strained once it has cured. This yields a remedy referred to as a “mother tincture.”

The mother tincture is diluted to produce different remedy potencies. To do this you use one of two scales: the decimal (x) and the centesimal (c). And an alcohol/water mixture is used for dilution in various stages.

Between each of the stages of dilution, the diluted
tincture is succussed (shaken vigorously). Also, the decimal scale dilution factor is 1:10 and in the centesimal
it is 1:100.

For example:

To produce a 1c potency of the allium remedy for example, one drop of the mother tincture is
added to 99 drops of an alcohol/water mixture and succussed. To produce a 2c potency, one drop of the 1c
mixture is added to 99 drops of an alcohol/water mixture and succussed. The number of a homeopathic remedy
shows how many times it has been diluted and succussed, for example, Allium 6c has been diluted and succussed
six times.

If you have tried homeopathic medicines and witnessed the body’s natural ability to heal itself when stimulated
by homeopathic remedies you will come to appreciate their benefits. Sure, there are times when antibiotics
save lives and they can be over-prescribed, when natural means could be taken to restore the body to balance
in most cases. So, if you have yet to try this form of natural healing recognize that homeopathy is one of
the safest, most effective natural remedies available.

high cost of prescription drugs and their side effects. Legal drugs caused many more deaths than terrorists and automobiles.

More on How Homeopathy Works

Samuel Hahnemann of Germany invented homeopathy in 1790. He coined the word, homeopathy to mean ‘similar sufferings.’
This is taken from the Latin phrase Similibus Simillum Curentar – meaning: let likes be cured by likes.

By knowing the toxic effects of an herb, mineral or animal fluid, homeopaths can then turn that substance
into a homeopathic remedy which will then have the direct opposite effect. And because of the manner in which
homeopathic remedies are made, there will be no side effects, no adverse reactions.

So if Syrup of Ipecac can induce vomiting (and it does), then Homeopathic Ipecac at a 30c potency can stop
the vomiting (and it does). This is a perfect solution if the vomiting of the patient is extremely similar
to the exact way that Syrup of Ipecac induces vomiting.

The patient must also think, feel and behave in the same manner that is caused by Ipecac toxicity. If this
is all true, then it is this similarity that brings to life the motto of homeopathy — ‘let likes be cured
by likes.’
