Facts About Warts and HPV Information on Body Warts or Genital Warts

Did you know there are almost 100 different strains of the wart virus or HPV?

Did you know that type 16 and type 33 warts are linked with cancer?

We're pleased to offer health information on flat warts, facial warts, genital warts, and more.

HPV (wart virus), Body Warts, & Genital Warts:

Body warts are a very common and, for most who have them, very embarrassing condition. Warts are caused by Human Papilloma Virus (known as HPV or wart virus) and are the result of virus particles, microscopic in size, which infect the skin.

Warts may appear as single bumps or in clusters. In appearance, some warts look similar to miniature cauliflower heads. HPV Virus is not a single strain of virus. There are many types of HPV. Certain HPV strains may grow in the mouth and others elsewhere on the body, including the genital areas.

Certain types and in particular, type 16 and 33 (genital strain) are associated with more serious changes in the skin that may lead to cancer. Studies have shown a close link between these types of HPV and cancer of the cervix.

Unlike the herpes virus which travels into the nerve cells, HPV is localized in the skin. However, many HPV infections are invisible. This means that the virus has altered the DNA structure of the cell but shows no visible signs on the skin. Millions of people are unaware that they have HPV, only a medical sampling of the skin will determine if the virus is prevalent.

The HPV type that grow on hands and feet is very common in children, although millions of adults suffer from a similar strain.

I personally think that warts represent a more serious health challenge than has ever been proven. A virus in the body is never a good thing in my mind, and the culprit behind warts is a virus so I look for new information to come out, in this or that scientific journal, saying that even something as innocent as a wart could be a signal of a body that is under too much duress. I look for science to find that viruses are factored into heart disease and other conditions. In any case, the HPV virus that causes most warts can be dealt with so why not get rid of it? This page contains info on a few of the more common types of warts and also offers effective solutions for wart removal.

Types of Warts

What are Flat Warts? It may sound like a funny name for a wart, but it isn't so funny when you have them. The scientific name for flat warts is Verrucae Planea Juveniles. This type of wart can appear just about anywhere on the body and they are growths caused by a common virus, HPV, which infects a huge amount of people. In fact, around five million new people every year become infected with HPV virus. It's possible to be infected and not have warts. In this case, the person is said to be a carrier for the virus.

It can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months and sometimes even years after exposure to HPV before warts appear. HSV, or Human Papilloma Virus, causes the growths, as well as other types of warts which you'll be reading about. Flat warts are also known as juvenile warts and are usually found in children and adolescents. The most common place for flat warts to occur is on the face. For this reason, it is important to use a wart remover which does not leave a scar.

Pinning down what type of wart you have isn't that easy because there are almost one hundred different strains of the wart virus, and when flat warts, or any other type of wart, becomes apparent it is important to seek a natural, non-scarring treatment immediately, like the Heal Warts Formula.

What are Facial Warts? Facial Warts are growths which are found on the face. Normally these are flat warts, common warts, or juvenile warts. When searching for a treatment for facial warts, obviously the most important thing is to use a remedy which uses no acids or drugs and will not leave any scarring. It is not a good idea to have these warts removed surgically either. With most of the removal techniques mentioned above, the warts can easily grow back. This is due to the extensive root structure that warts have. If you do not remove the entire wart, including the root, facial warts, and most other types of warts end up growing back at a later stage.

Facial warts are caused by the HPV virus, which stands for the Human Papilloma virus. It is an extremely contagious virus which can lay dormant in the body for a long time, before facial warts appear. Normally the incubation period is a few weeks or months. The wart virus is one of the fastest spreading viruses these days. HPV affects more people in the US each year than HIV - aids. It is estimated that about 5 million new people become infected with the virus every year, and this number is growing rapidly!

Genital Warts (also spelled genatal warts, genitile or genitle warts but correctly spelled genital warts) are caused by one of the most common viruses - the Human Papilloma Virus. Otherwise known as HPV, this virus is not just responsible for genetal warts, but for other warts too. In fact, there are over 80 different strains of HPV, and warts can be found anywhere on the body. Genetal warts make up about 30 of the different HPV strains and are extremely common. However, many people do not know of an effective treatment / remedy.

Genetal warts are extremely contagious and can be passed from one person to another fairly easily. You do not need to have any visible genetal warts to pass the virus on. There are many carriers of the virus who do not even have any genatal warts. The incubation time for HPV is normally a few weeks or months, but the virus is able to lay dormant in the body for over a year in some cases. If genitle warts appear, it is very important to treat them immediately, using a genetal wart remover, which is natural and will get rid of warts properly, without leaving any scarring. There is an over the counter medicine that will get rid of genitile warts for good, called Heal Warts.

Common Warts

Common warts can be found on the hands, feet, forearms, and face and range in size from a pinhead to a small bean. They can also occur on the voice box or the larynx and cause hoarseness. They are rough, irregular skin growths, and are caused by a virus. Highly contagious, they can be spread by picking, trimming, biting, or touching them. They can also be spread on the face by shaving.

Common warts most often occur on skin that is continuously exposed to friction, trauma, or abrasion. They may be flat or raised, dry or moist, and have a rough and pitted surface that is either flesh-colored or darker than the surrounding skin. They typically do not cause pain or itching and can be left to disappear on their own unless they become bothersome.

Venereal or genital warts are single or clusters of soft, cauliflower-like growths found in and around the vagina, anus, penis, groin, or scrotal area. they are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV). There are more than thirty-five types of HPV, and two have been associated with cancer of the cervix and genital area. These rough, bumpy growths can be found by the vaginal opening and labia. They are sexually transmitted and highly contagious. Males can also contract these warts on their genitals.

If venereal warts are suspected, women should immediately see a gynecologist and have a pap test.

Wart Removal Information: For Wart removal to work properly, the entire wart needs to be drawn out from the root upwards. The mistake that many people make with wart removal, is to use over the counter medicines and creams / ointments with acids in them or getting them burnt off / frozen by a Doctor (cryotherapy).

Using acids or treatments such as liquid nitrogen may remove warts temporarily, but in most cases the wart grows back, and there is a risk of scarring. The same applies to cutting warts out or having them surgically removed. Freezing with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy), burning, cutting, surgical removal and using a medicine, cream or ointment with acids is therefore not advisable!

Wart Formula Tincture Ingredients: Garlic; Celandine; Mullein; Buckthorn Bark. Uses: Disinfectant; Infection; Skin Disorders; Warts. Apply directly to the wart and cover with a Band-Aid. Can also be used internally.

Hey Leia, Please tell me there is something I can do to get rid of all HPV in my system? I asked God for help and the answer was "prayer and fasting." I am sure that will do the trick, but some human advice could be a nice supplement. Thank you, Dylan

Dear Dylan, Since warts are caused by viruses, theoretically it is possible to use any anti-virus medication to help to combat the warts. However, HPV consists of many different strains, making it a difficult problem to eradicate all of these strains, and there are many "miracle" wart remedies on the market, which further complicates and creates even more confusion for both the patient and the doctor. Natural anti-viral products could be helpful for some strains, but not for others. Grapefruit seed extract, olive leaf extract, lemon balm, oil of oregano, lauric acid in coconut oil, and rosemary oil are just a few of the anti-viral herbs which, if used regularly, may assist in removing viruses or keeping them at bay. Also, in order to keep the virus from spreading and breaking out, it would be a good idea to strengthen your immune system with immune enhancement products. Factors which may decrease your immune system include: poor diet, cigarette smoking, alcohol, and emotional, mental, and physical stress. Reishi mushrooms, bee propolis, and, echinacea are three good herbs which help to bolster up the immune system. Another interesting product which one of my patients told me worked wonders for her virus is "Miracle II" soap and gel, which should be applied topically only, and could be helpful in clearing up the virus and to prevent new warts from forming. Also, aloe vera juice can be applied topically to the warts and covered securely with an air-tight bandaid. To affect a cure, it is wise to use both topical and internal products, and to keep stress at a minimum. I hope that these suggestions assist you in your healing journey.

I am married woman of 40 who has only slept with my husband of 22 years. Six months ago, I had a operation to remove the lining of my womb. Since about 2 months ago, I have had these wart like lumps appear around my anal area. I was wondering if the operation may have caused these in any possible way or if it must be caused by sexual intercourse. I am too embarrassed to go to a doctor and was wondering if there is a way I can cure this myself. My money situation is not good, and I need a cheap but effective cure. Thank you.

Dear Noreen, It is important that you visit your doctor so that he or she can diagnose the lumps. They may or may not be warts. If they are genital warts, then you should also have a PAP smear done regularly to monitor the cell changes. Certain strains of genital warts are the cause of cervical cancer which, if diagnosed early, can be eliminated or removed and prevent spreading. Warts can be invisible to the eye and can erupt when the body is under stress. Your operation may have triggered the eruption, but it probably is not the cause of the warts, which could already have been present in your body without your knowledge. You should tell your doctor about this problem and have them examined and tested. Good luck.

I was just diagnosed with Human Papillomavirus. I have warts in my anal region and have an appointment next week to have a it looked at further and see what treatment options are available to me. I read online about genital warts but nothing specifically talks much about anal warts. How fast do they spread, is there anything I can do to help before I go to the doctor? Is there anything I should avoid doing? I am really freaked out, and I do not know what to do and what to expect. Is there a good web site that I can go to? I have looked at many, but I am having a hard time finding things on anal warts.

I have been doing my regular routine on the pap smear test every year for the past 15 to 20 years. I found out I have the HPV Virus. Now what I do not understand is this, I have had warts ever since I was a little girl. They first started on my right leg well above my vagina. They were like a group of little warts, I was about 14 years of age, the doctor said it was a virus and gave me a cream and they went away. Ever since then, I have had these warts on my ankles, legs, hands, and later on the out side of my vagina. I would only have one or two. Now I am a health fanatic. I eat right, and I am a very physical person. I go to the gym 3 to 4 times a week. I am 40 years old and refuse to believe my Immune System is weak. I refuse to believe that there is no cure. After all, if I never went to the doctor I would have not known I have this problem. Who knows, there could be many, many, virus's out there we do not know about. You can live your whole life just fine and dandy and never have a problem until someone says, hey you have a problem. I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say. Thank you for your time.

Hi Gang, I have just been diagnosed with HPV in the anal region and the Dr. wants to do biopsies etc. I have heard douching with a mixture of Apple cider vinegar kills anal warts. Is that correct and what is the recipe and instructions for use? Also, what can I use to purge this and other viruses from my body?

I have been diagnosed with HPV and had two surgeries for my dysplasia. After my second surgery the results came back clean. I don’t have vaginal warts, but I developed terrible oral warts at the base of my tongue and back of my throat. They are very painful and can’t get any info on the Internet. Is there a topical treatment safe for oral use? I heard that it can’t cause oral cancer, and I am extremely scared. I am so depressed. I am a vegetarian and eat only organic food. I quit smoking and drinking for over a year. I exercise, and I am in top shape. I drink plenty of water mixed with a Chlorophyll, Aloe, Allantoin and other herbs. I also mix my water with Willard water. I also take something I got from the Internet called "Viral Free", "Beta Mannan" and also Thuja. I am very terrified of cancer, my mother died one year ago from lung cancer in my arms at the age of 56 on her B-day. I researched and bought every anti-cancer thing I could find. I take daily: Vitamin C non-acidic - powder L-Lysine powder, L-Arginine powder, L-Proline powder, Digest Gold, Super 5 Lozenge Probiotic, Glycine, Quercetin Bromelain, Vitamin A, Turmeric,Beta Carotene, Betaine HCI, Copper, Toco-Sorb, Glucosamine Chondroitin MSM, Calcium-Magnesium, N-acetyl Cysteine, CoQ10, Selenium, Ginkgo biloba, Folic Acid, Grape seed extract, Zinc, Fennel Seed, B vitamins including Niacin. Yah, I just open them all up and make a cocktail. It is disgusting but my skin looks better, but no luck for warts. What else can I do? Is there any hope for me?

Dear Renee, Rach, and Bob, It appears that there are many misconceptions about the nature of HPV or Human Papilloma Virus. HPV is an extremely contagious virus which may or may not cause visible warts. About 50 per cent of those infected do NOT have any visible warts or symptoms. HPV is spread by skin to skin contact, and can occur on ANY part of the body, not just the vagina, cervix, penis, scrotum, anus, or buttocks. Because the virus may not manifest as a wart or any other symptom, when you have physical contact with another person, then you will be able to contract the virus. Since people do not realize that they carry the virus, it is easy to spread it from one person to another person. Even though sexual contact is the most common and widespread method of spreading the virus, any intimate skin-to-skin contact may also spread the virus. Warm moist environments such as: folds in the skin, around the rectum or anus, the labial area, vagina, penis, or scrotum, and sometimes even the mouth and throat, help to provide a growing environment for the HPV virus. Once the virus is present, it can then spread to different areas of the body. Please go to the link below to learn more about the nature, the cause, the symptoms, and the conventional treatments, and the complications of this popular virus. Bob, using vinegar is not an effective form of treatment for warts, but it is a diagnostic method in which the doctor can discern the presence of microscopic warts in the mucosal areas of the body. You might have missed the link in the article on this page above for the WART FORMULA TINCTURE AND TREATMENTS. Also, you might want to read my answer to Dylan above. I hope that this better clarifies the confusion about the HPV virus. Go here to learn all about HPV > Learn More About HPV.

My son has genital warts, he has been to a doctor and has had them worked on. He is very depressed and worried that he may never find a wife because of this problem. He feels he will give her cancer or what ever. He also is very concerned about using a toilet seat and spreading it that way. Also if he where to have children would they be infected. I need some answers to this virus. He reads the internet and thinks he is doomed for life. Is he? Please help explain.

I've recently had my annual pap come back indicating HPV, and I'm currently awaiting the results of a 1 month follow up pap. I've been in a new relationship for 7 months after an 8 year monogamous marriage. My naturopath feels that this newly detected stain in my body is a result of my new partner, and doesn't seem overly concerned. I'm primarily raw and extremely healthy in body, mind, and spirit. I currently have no warts. I'd like to do everything I can to support my body; do you suggest that I take the tincture for wart free HPV?

Sabrina and others, Sounds like you're looking for a natural way to treat your symptoms. In addition to what Dr. Leia suggests "in order to keep the virus from spreading and breaking out, it would be a good idea to strengthen your immune system with immune enhancement products. Reishi mushrooms, bee propolis, and echinacea are three good herbs which help to bolster up the immune system." If I can add, another interesting product is Papillex. This is a treatment plan that was prescribed by my ND. I'm 3 months along in the treatment and am very hopeful as to the results. Hope this helps.

I am clearing my anal warts taking oil of oregano three times a day and topically a teaspoon of regular petrolatum mixed with three drops of pure frankincense oil and two drops of pure rosemary oil. I've heard also that lavender oil removes warts, but I haven't tried that yet. Also, mix 10ml of jojoba oil in an amber glass with two drops of Clove bud oil. Apply topically two times a day. Good Luck! Warts are nightmares but we can beat them one hundred percent.

Hi Conqueror, it is not a good idea to apply many different oils directly to the skin without first diluting them with a carrier oil as many of them can burn the skin and cause severe reactions. It is important to use something that has been properly prepared for topical use.

I had HPV and got rid of it my ex husband didn't catch it either. Well I was informed men don't get it, but that is false. The herbs work, apple cider vinegar, and the oils listed up above. I used it and it works. Don't be discouraged it takes time.

My belief is that I contracted the warts from my now ex husband. Since getting him out of my life, they laid dormant until about 6 months ago. Now I have done more reading than i had done before when I had the last outbreak. I went to the doctor the last time and got them burned off, which was excruciating. I have had multiple treatments. Since then, I have been researching, a lot. I have found that plain old white vinegar applied with a q-tip several times a day seems to be making them go away. The trick has been staying on it. I also made up a concoction of; pure aloe vera juice, tea tree oil, castor oil and lavender oil. That is also applied topically with a q-tip. Now, since I have decided to go to school to go into the field of Holistic healing, as a result of being fed up with western medicine and the sickness industry, I have decided it would be a great idea to combine better diet. Your body was built to heal itself, give the proper nutrition and diet. I also eat organic, which the opposite I believe is a cause for all of the "new" problems. This stuff didn't exist until we started screwing with our food and pumping ourselves with drugs, that don't fix the problem but nearly mask it. So I guess consider a lifestyle change completely. I have found that eating healthfully has been the most addicting and gratifying thing I have done. I am not cured yet, per say but I have faith that I am well on my way. Some suggestions for vitamins and diet; Garlic, Vitamin C, E, Selenium, B, Grape Seed, Shitake Mushroom, Reishi Mushroom, Beta Carotene, Golden Seal, Echinecea, Folic Acid. And yes, I know organic is more expensive. But I would much rather pay for better food than pay for food that is essentially pumped with garbage that doesn't promote health but the exact opposite. Oh, I almost forgot, I drink a lot of tea. It's known that drinking hot liquids wards off sickness. It's kept me healthy through the cold and flu season. Get lots of sleep, your body heals as it rests. Best of wellness, blessed be.
