Foot Reflexology Chart: Map for Healing

The reflexology foot map represents all the pressure points on your feet that have a corresponding effect on different parts of your body.

Reflexology is an alternative healing technique that aims to reduce bodily stress levels by massaging the pressure points on your feet.

The reflexology chart of foot pressure points guide the reflexologist to specific areas of your feet depending on what part of your body you want to effect.

Reflexology Foot

For example, if you are suffering from headaches, the reflexologist will delicately apply pressure to the tips of your toes. For problems related to your back, the reflexologist will apply pressure to your heel and the front portion of your ankle. In reflexology, there is a pressure point for almost every part of your body such as:

  • kidney
  • heart
  • brain
  • liver
  • spleen
  • glands
  • lungs
  • colon
  • eyes
  • small intestine
  • spine, etc.

This alternative healing technique is also considered an effective means of relieving mental stress and depression, which have become quite common nowadays.

Reflexology also involves massaging the pressure points on your hands, but the feet are the most commonly used. Reflexology and feet pressure treatments are gaining more recognition. Medical practitioners believe that when pressure is applied to a specific area of your feet, bio-chemical signals are generated through the peripheral nervous system. The signals then travel to the central nervous system where they are processed in different parts of the brain. Your brain then sends signals to the internal organs of your body for making adjustments in bodily fuel and oxygen. This relaxes your whole body and decreases the tension that different working organs have on your body. This in turn reduces stress and wear and tear of bodily systems and processes.

Although reflexology has proved quite beneficial in reducing mental and bodily stress, its ability to cure or prevent diseases is still to be ascertained. However, since mental stress is a leading cause of many diseases such as hypertension, we can infer that reflexology does help in preventing the onset of certain diseases, albeit indirectly.

For realizing the full benefits of this innovative healing system, you will have to make it a part of your life, i.e. you will have to consistently practice the technique until your body and mind start feeling the difference. The technique can be applied two to three times per week in the initial stages and four to five times per week after a few months. Each massage session can be ten to thirty minutes long, depending on how much time you are willing to allocate.

The best thing about reflexology is that it can be done practically anytime and anywhere. This means that you can depend on reflexology even if you do not have much spare time.

Of all the natural means available to help with fibromyalgia, which do you see as the most rewarding? I have not tried reflexology, so I'll give it a go. Because I have a bad hamstring, near the groin, and a hiatal hernia, I am awfully reluctant to do strenuous exercise. Even walking long distances can cause my leg to hurt, and I've had so many cortisone shots in it that I have finally given up on them. I do a relaxation technique that I call letting go. Also, I do try to meditate similar to you, where I attempt not to think about anything. It's still not very easy for me. I'll keep trying. So much to think about in regard to diet, stress, exercise, herbals, medications, etc. It's a lot to take in. I sure wish I had some help. I'll keep coming back to see what more I can learn from you. Thanks.

My son experiences hearing loss, like that of being under water, when he does squats with heavy weights. It lasts for more than several weeks. He has been to an audiologist and even had a CAT scan with no apparent cause. He eats well and takes vitamin supplements. Any suggestions aside from stop lifting?

Dear Ellen, It is interesting that I just came across this website yesterday regarding a simple small device which shoots air into the Eustachian tube to help to equalize the air pressure. It was originally developed by a medical doctor for children with ear problems, because a growing child has a smaller Eustachian tube which can create problems with recurring ear infections for which antibiotic treatment is ineffective in most cases. This new device was also recommended for people who go scuba diving and do underwater sports. So, if your son's hearing loss is not due to any more serious problems such as blood pressure etc, then you might want to visit this website to find out more about this simple effective method:> Ear Popper. Good luck in your search for a solution to his problem and remember to share your experiences with us.

Can hurting heal spur pain cause my shoulders to ache?

Dear Don, heel spurs are caused by a laying down of extra calcium deposits in an area where calcium is not supposed to be. Often times, trauma, injury, flat feet, or inappropriate shoes can cause this problem. Because of the strategic function of the foot with it's immense weight bearing load, it is a common medically observed phenomena. If there is no overt cause, such as mentioned with trauma, flat feet, or inappropriate shoes, then it could be that you may have a tendency to lay down calcium in soft tissue areas and joints. This can be due to an error in metabolism of calcium breakdown, either too little calcium or too much calcium, or lack of an enzyme to dissolve the calcium, or an excessive intake of inorganic calcium, or improper dietary sources creating an alkaline environment in the body which predisposes to this condition. If you are concerned about calcium deposits in your shoulders, you might want to visit your doctor for a complete check-up, examination, and testing. Go here to learn more about how to dissolve your heel spurs> Bone Spurs Can Be Healed Naturally.

I have had an enlarged prostate problem for a few years now. And though surgery has been suggested and or advised, I don't intend to go down that path. I meditate with white light and have recently had a Pranic healing. I have not tried reflexology, so can you tell me if there is a treatment I can do on myself and if you know of any successes for this problem.

We thought my 77-year old father had hearing problem with his right ear, so we brought him to a specialist so that he could have a hearing aid installed. However, the doctor said my father could hear the sound well, but it just does not translate into the language, it has something to do with the brain nerves associated. What kind of therapy should my father undergo?
