I am only 14 and I am looking for something that doesn't cost no money and that makes me lose weight; my mom always tells me to watch my weight. I weigh 120 pounds and I am only going to 9th grade. My mom also says that she weighed 116 when she got married at 16. I am really disappointed of my body and hoping you can help me out. So please help me lose weight that I would get to the weight of 80-90 pounds. Thanks so much.

Jasmine, My name is Robin. I am also going into the ninth grade this year. I weight 175 pounds. I am five feet, ten inches tall. According to professionals, my ideal weight is 144 pounds. I am very sure that your ideal, healthy weight is not 80 pounds. 120 is hardly overweight for someone going into the ninth grade, unless you are very, very, short. Just because your mother was 116 pounds at age 16, that does not mean that you have to be as small. Everyone is built differently, and perhaps her ideal weight isn't yours. I am 14 as well, I know exactly what your going through. Before I realized how unhealthy it was for someone of my height, I wanted to weigh 100 pounds. I realize know that if I had dropped all that weight, as someone of my stature, I would have become very ill. I went to a doctor and was told that my ideal weight is 144. I have almost reached that weight. When I reach it, I am not going to try to drop anymore weight, but I will try to maintain myself at 144. I suggest you find out what your ideal weight is, and if it is less than what you weigh, lose weight safely, by eating right and exercising, until you reach your ideal weight. Not mine, not your mothers, not anyone else's ideal weight, yours. When you have reached it, maintain it, but please don't go below it. But if your ideal weight is exactly what you weigh right now, then ignore your mother telling you to lose weight, and learn to love your perfect body. Remember that everyone is different, all shapes and sizes. Not everyone can weigh the same. I hope you take my advice. God bless you.
