A good idea when you have Crohns Disease is to keep a food diary of foods that you find do not create reactions. Also, keep your foods very simple. One food almost everyone can eat is plain white rice so you might give it a try even though some say white rice has to much fiber. A good fat that many can tolerate is coconut oil, and omega 3 fish oils. Raw honey may also be a good choice. Some do well on Bananas and perhaps try them with peanut butter since it is not really a nut. Yogurt can be okay for some since it is not processed the same way as many dairy products plus it contains good bacterias and enzymes which aid digestion. Also some do well with a very plain cheese pizza. So when creating recipes keep your foods basic and simple. Once you know what foods work for you then only add one new food, eat it a couple days in a row with what you know works. If after three or four days you find no reaction you can add it to your list of foods that are good for Crohn's Disease diet. Then wait a day or two, and try adding another new simple food. Hope this helps.

I find all kinds of lists of foods to avoid with Crohn's, but I cannot find a list that can possibly help with Crohn's. Can you give me a list of foods or kinds of foods that have been helpful to others?

I am currently going through a wicked bout of Crohns Disease, diarrhea, pain, sometimes blood, fatigue and weakness. My G.I. Dr. put me on a very restrictive low residue/fiber free diet, which consists of absolutely no vegetables, no fruits, seeds, nuts, fried foods, anything with skins, limited dairy intake, etc. I have been reading articles on food combining; lowering the acidity, and adding to alkaline levels in foods. I was wondering if there are any free diet recipes out there, if so, can you help with that? I am not able to afford the books (recipes) out there such as the Great Taste No Pain program. My medications are costing me a small fortune right now, as well as the daily expenses of living, especially these days. Also, what is your take of this method of holistic healing? Please help, thank You.
