Amy Tan and the "The Bonesetter's Daughter" - An Excavation of the Human Spirit

The story unfolds in contemporary San Francisco and also in a Chinese village, "The Bonesetter's Daughter" is truely an excavation of our human spirit: The past, life's deepest wounds, and our most profound of hopes.

The story holds images of the pain found in broken dreams and the power of our myths. It embraces the strength of love that is there to enable us to remember the memories what loss as we grieve.

During the course of a year the daughter and her mother reveal what they have in common in their bones, throughout their heredity, and history, and the most inexpressible qualities of love.
